Welcome to the EYFS page!

We are a dedicated and committed team who strive to work in close partnership all parents and carers. With a free flow environment we endeavour to provide each child with a range opportunities, which stimulate their creativity and support their development, to ensure they become the best they can be.
Our reception classes are Sharks and Rainbowfish. They are based in our wonderfully resourced open plan learning environment, which hosts a wonderful and open ended outdoor learning area. On this page you will find important information, curriculum newsletters, links to recommended websites, downloadable resources to support your child's learning.
If you wish to contact any of the teachers please use the class email addresses, by clicking on the class name tabs above. Please allow 48 hours for a response.

EYFS Beginning September 2023

We are delighted to have the privilege of caring for the learning and development of your child within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The EYFS is how the Government and early years professionals describe the time in your child’s life between birth and age 5. This is a very important stage as it helps your child get ready for school life as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes. From when your child is born up until the age of 5, their early years experience should be positive, active, exciting, fun and secure. It should support their development, care and learning to ensure they are positive and curious learners. Here at Bassingbourn Primary we are passionate about giving your child the best and most positive start to their schooling life. If you would like to view our school please contact our school office.

Children can start the reception year at primary school from the September after their fourth birthday. You can apply online for a primary school place between 12 September 2022 until the 15th January 2023. You can apply through the Cambridgeshire County Council website in the link below.
